About

I'm Jason Krijgsman, a data professional based in Rotterdam. I build data products and data infrastructure, currently at GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond.

I help organisations turn a data question into a working product. That starts with the question, definitions and requirements, followed by the data infrastructure, analysis or model needed to answer it.

I have worked in aviation, freight, construction, film and home entertainment supply chains, and public health. The subject changes, but the practical work is similar: learn how the process and data fit together, then build something people can use.

Background

I completed an MSc in Business with Business Analytics at Northumbria University with Distinction. My thesis was a digital twin of Mexico's largest airport. I also hold a BSc in Aviation from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and a vocational qualification in aviation logistics from STC Rotterdam.

I became a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) through DAMA in 2026. Before joining the GGD, I spent two years at The Walt Disney Company working with EMEA supply chain data. I previously worked on airport and freight simulation at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, NACO / Royal HaskoningDHV and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Dutch is my first language, and I work fluently in English (IELTS 8.5). I also buildBliep, a mesh radio device. For this project I work on firmware in C, electronics and hardware certification.

What I'm working on now

At the GGD, I work on infrastructure for regional public health monitoring. Outside that role I develop small studies for the public data lab and continue to work on Bliep.
