Website delivery

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical request data, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the site. I use this processing because it is necessary for my legitimate interests in publishing a reliable and secure website. See theCloudflare privacy policyfor details.

Analytics

On jasonkrijgsman.com, I use an instance of Umamithat I operate through Vercel and a Neon database. It records page addresses and titles, referrers, approximate location, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and named link-click events. The server uses request information including the IP address and user agent to create a rotating pseudonymous session identifier; it does not store the raw IP address.

Umami does not set cookies or follow visitors across unrelated websites. I do not use its identity feature, so a visit is never linked to a name or email address. The tracker respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. I process these statistics on the basis of my legitimate interest in understanding which pages are useful and improving the site.

Session replays and heatmaps

The same Umami instance also records session replays and heatmaps. A session replay captures what happens on your screen: clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and the page as it was shown to you. Anything you type into a form field is masked and not recorded. Page elements that show personal data are excluded from recordings. A heatmap only counts where visitors click on a page and how far they scroll. Neither feature sets cookies, and your Do Not Track setting stops the recorder together with the tracker.

I keep analytics records only while they remain useful for comparing long-term use and evaluating changes to the site, and I delete or aggregate them earlier when they are no longer needed. Raw records, replays and heatmap data are deleted automatically after twelve months at the latest. After that only monthly totals of page views and visits remain.

Vercel runs the analytics application and Neon stores its database. Their privacy and data protection terms describe their processing locations and international-transfer safeguards:Vercel privacy notice,Vercel data processing terms andNeon data processing terms.

Theme preference

If you select a light, dark or automatic colour theme, the site stores that functional preference in your browser. It remains there until you change it or clear your browser data and is not sent to me.

Ordinary enquiries are deleted within 12 months after the last contact unless an agreement or legal obligation requires longer retention. Email is handled byMigadu.
